Letter: C-Tran must look within for savings

The Columbian
Published: October 18, 2011, 5:00pm

The Columbian has a long history of criticizing waste and abuse in public agencies, yet they continue to support C-Tran taxing us more.

C-Tran should be forced to do what any business would do, that is, examine each route and time, and if there are not enough riders to at least break even, then stop that route.

I also see abuse in the C-Van service. I used to live in a very high-end subdivision. The C-Van drove by my house like clockwork at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to serve my wealthy neighbors’ moms.

It’s high time The Columbian use its staff to take a close look at C-Tran finances. I’ll volunteer, I have 30 years experience as an auditor.
