Letter: Vote for C-Tran is vote for safety

I will happily vote to raise my sales tax rate next month to preserve C-Tran’s service.

Why would I do this when I don’t use the service? There are people who may be using C-Tran now that we should want bus service preserved for.

Consider new U.S. residents who can’t read road signs in English, aging residents whose eyesight, hearing, and reflexes may be failing, people with multiple offenses and suspended licenses — they’ve proved that they shouldn’t be driving. With bus service reduced, they might, against all better judgement, be driving their own cars on the road.

It should be in the interest of all Clark County residents to provide an option for those who really, truly, should not be driving. Vote “yes” on Proposition 1.
