OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Almost half of Washington voters say they support a plan to privatize liquor sales in Washington state.
A University of Washington poll released Monday shows that about 48 percent of respondents planned to vote yes on Initiative 1183. About 41 percent said they opposed it while others were undecided.
The results on Tim Eyman’s anti-tolling measure are less clear, with about a quarter of all people still undecided. About 37 percent plan to vote yes while 38 percent plan to vote no.
Meanwhile, Republican Rob McKenna has an advantage in next year’s race for governor, holding a lead of seven percentage points.
The poll involved 938 registered voters and was conducted over a three-week period in October. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.
