Stunned by 2 late losses, Badgers hope to rally

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The sense of shock has faded for Wisconsin, and now the Badgers are trying to forget about what they let slip away: A legitimate shot at the national championship that vanished after a pair of gut-wrenching late collapses at Michigan State and Ohio State.

They still hope to save their season with a trip to the Rose Bowl, although the path isn’t nearly as clear as it was two weeks ago.

Wisconsin has fallen to No. 19 in the latest Associated Press poll, and quarterback Russell Wilson’s Heisman Trophy chances are slipping away as well. But Wilson insists he won’t let the stunning back-to-back losses affect the way he prepares for Saturday’s home game against Purdue, and said he expects the same from his teammates.
