Gang investigators from Vancouver and Portland are looking for someone who shot a 36-year-old man on Hayden Island very early Sunday.

Shaun Lynell Wilson of Vancouver was a patient at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, a hospital official said Monday night. He was in satisfactory condition, a nursing supervisor said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, an injury not believed life-threatening, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

The call came in at 2:43 a.m. Sunday that shots had been fired in the 11900 block of North Center Avenue, according to a bulletin from the Portland Police Bureau.

As Portland officers drove to the scene, they learned that the injured man had left in a red SUV.

Officers found the crime scene and were told that a gunshot victim had arrived at PeaceHealth, the bulletin said.

Wilson is well known to gang investigators in both Vancouver and Portland, Simpson said.

About 9:30 p.m. Monday, Simpson said police had no suspect information. Gang investigators were working the case, he added.
