COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — USA Swimming has added Michael Phelps’ coach, Bob Bowman, to its staff for the 2012 London Olympics.

Bowman will be an assistant men’s coach, working with head coach Gregg Troy. This will be the third Olympics for Bowman. He was an assistant in both Athens and Beijing while Phelps was winning 14 gold medals.

Also Thursday, USA Swimming announced that Dave Salo will be an assistant for the women’s team led by Teri McKeever. Tim Murphy will coach the open water team.

The remaining four members of the U.S. coaching staff will be announced after next summer’s Olympic trials in Omaha, Neb.
