Doug Slaten comes off DL for Nationals

ATLANTA (AP) — Left-hander Doug Slaten is back with the Washington Nationals after missing 77 games with a left elbow injury.

Slaten was activated from the 15-day disabled list before Thursday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves. The reliever was placed on the disabled list June 4.

The 31-year-old Slaten is 0-1 with a 2.19 ERA in 23 games. He was 4-1 with a 3.10 ERA in 49 games with Washington in 2010.

Slaten posted a 1.74 ERA in nine games, including four starts, in his minor league rehab assignment.
