U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, will host a jobs fair this month in Vancouver.

The free event is open to all Southwest Washington residents, according to her Facebook page, and will be 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay.

“The goal of this jobs fair will be to help connect area employers with potential new hires,” read a statement on her Facebook page. “Job creation remains my top priority.”

At an invitation-only Vancouver gathering last month that included contractors, a dentist, a hotel owner, and the head of several hobby shops, Herrera Beutler heard from business owners who said companies can’t find qualified workers.

Employers interested in participating should call Pam Peiper at 360-695-6292.
