Letter: Honor nation’s workers

Honor nation’s workers

Labor Day should be celebrated in honor of all the workers, living and dead, who built this nation. Workers must have the right to join together for strength in numbers to demand living-wage salaries, adequate health benefits, and family leave.

History shows us that when union workers have these benefits, all workers have much better working conditions, salaries, and benefits.

Workers with higher salaries spend their income in their local communities, communities that flourish economically.

Support and honor your neighbors who work, who build our roads, educate our children, care for our sick and injured, save us from fire and flood.
