LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho County sheriff’s office says a Washington woman who had been missing in the backcountry near Elk City has been found.

Search crews found 65-year-old April A. Hafer, of Clarkston, Wash., Tuesday afternoon. Rescue teams say Hafer is in good condition.

The sheriff’s office began looking for Hafer Monday. She was last seen by friends Sunday morning in a remote corner of the Nez Perce National Forest after leaving her campsite on foot to pick berries.

Search crews brought in tracking dogs to help in the rescue.
