GOLDENDALE, Wash. (AP) — The Klickitat County sheriff’s office says Thursday that a wildfire near Satus Pass forced the evacuation of more homes overnight.

Dispatcher Lisa George says there are no reports of structures burned or injuries.

On Wednesday the sheriff’s office said 38 homes were in a mandatory evacuation area and residents of another 21 homes were alerted they might have to leave.

The fire about three miles west of Satus Pass burned about 1,100 acres and disrupted traffic on Highway 97 between Goldendale and Toppenish.

Another wildfire in Washington has burned about 400 acres in a remote part of the Brothers Wilderness on the Olympic Peninsula.
