EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — One thing stands out when Adrian Peterson looks back on his record-setting day against the San Diego Chargers in 2007. He thinks he could have had more.
Peterson set an NFL record with 296 yards rushing that day, scoring three touchdowns in a 35-17 dismantling of the Chargers. Even more impressive, 253 of those yards came in the second half.
Peterson says he believes a running back will run for 300 yards in a game some day and he fully expects to be the man to do it.
His next shot comes on Sunday at San Diego, the first time his Minnesota Vikings have played the Chargers since he set the record.
