SEATTLE (AP) — A man Seattle police described as “like Spider Man” stood on his head, did handstands and ran back and forth for nearly six hours on a narrow ledge beneath an overpass near Safeco Field.

His antics took place Thursday above railroad tracks.

The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/nSdk3R) that the unidentified man, reportedly in his 40s, was finally taken into custody, but not before he jumped from the overpass onto a slow-moving train. He was unhurt after the drop of 8-10 feet. Police spokeswoman Renee Witt says he was taken to Harborview Medical Center for what she called a “much-needed mental-health evaluation.”

At one point, Burlington Northern Santa Fe shut down the main rail line for freight and passenger trains for more than an hour and police rerouted vehicle traffic.
