DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Duquesne’s Jared Williams blocked Dayton’s tying field goal try with 2 seconds left and ran it back for a 48-yard touchdown to secure a 22-13 victory over Dayton on Saturday and snap the Football Championship Subdivision’s longest winning streak.

The Flyers (1-1) had won 10 straight since losing 35-31 at Duquesne last Sept. 11.

The Dukes (1-1) broke a 13-13 tie with 30 seconds left on a 24-yard Charlie Leventry field goal, his third of the game.

Dayton reached the Duquesne 33 on a 12-yard pass on fourth-and-2 from Will Bardo to Luke Bellman before the blocked kick.

The Flyers took a 7-0 lead on an 83-yard run, the third-longest in school history, by Taylor Harris, who gained 110 yards in seven carries.

Duquesne’s Sean Patterson, who completed 19 of 32 for 254 yards, tied it 47 seconds before halftime with a 10-yard pass to Connor Dixon.
