MONZA, Italy (AP) — Lotus has extended Jarno Trulli’s contract through next year.
Lotus made the announcement Sunday ahead of Trulli’s home Italian Grand Prix, and it means the 37-year-old driver will enter a third season with the Anglo-Malaysian team.
Trulli joined Lotus in late 2009 and was with the team for its entry into Formula One last year.
Trulli says, “the challenge I first accepted when I joined the team is becoming more exciting every day, and I am very proud that I can keep helping the team take steps forward for at least another year.”
Trulli made his F1 debut with Minardi in 1997 and has also driven for Peugeot, Jordan, Renault and Toyota.
His only win came in the 2004 Monaco GP with Renault.
