NEW YORK (AP) — The ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in lower Manhattan has begun.

The city is observing the anniversary Sunday at the National September 11 Memorial at the World Trade Center site. The ceremony is also serving as the memorial’s official opening. The site opens to the public Monday.

The centerpiece of the ceremony is the reading of the names of those who died in the attacks. Among political figures attending are President Barack Obama and President George W. Bush.
