WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C. United midfielder Chris Pontius has a broken right leg from a collision in the second half of a game against Chivas USA.

United said Sunday that Pontius has a non-displaced fracture of his right tibia.

Pontius was hurt when he collided with Chivas USA’s David Junior Lopes in the 68th minute of Saturday’s 3-0 United win. Lopes received a red card on the play, and Pontius was taken off the field on a stretcher.

Pontius has started all 25 of United’s MLS games this season. He has seven goals and five assists.
