MIAMI (AP) — Two-time Pro Bowl running back Larry Johnson is active for the Miami Dolphins’ game Monday night against New England.

Johnson was cut two weeks ago, then re-signed Thursday. He provides depth in the absence of rookie running back Daniel Thomas, who was inactive because of a hamstring injury.

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth missed practice Saturday with an illness, but will make his regular-season debut for the Patriots.

Among those inactive for New England were linebacker Brandon Spikes, right tackle Sebastian Vollmer, running back Shane Vereen and rookie quarterback Ryan Mallett.

The Patriots signed offensive lineman Thomas Welch from their practice squad and waived linebacker Jeff Tarpinian. Welch was active for the game.
