SEATTLE (AP) — The King County medical examiner’s office says a 49-year-old man found dead in his King County Jail cell committed suicide by hanging himself.

The Seattle Times says (http://bit.ly/nnq574) jail records show Domenic Vittone of suburban Des Moines was booked into the jail Sept. 6 for investigation of criminal contempt, failure to appear and theft.

Jail Cmdr. William Hayes said the man was found unresponsive Monday during a routine security check and declared dead about 20 minutes later.

An investigation is planned.

Hayes says this was the second suicide this year. A 29-year-old man killed himself in May at the King County Regional Justice Center in Kent.
