RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have signed running back/fullback Eddie Williams off the Cleveland Browns practice squad and released tight end Dominique Byrd to clear a roster spot.

Seattle made the roster moves on Tuesday. Additionally, the Seahawks released guard Brent Osborne from the practice squad and signed tight end Fendi Onobun to the practice squad.

Williams’ signing comes after fullback Michael Robinson suffered a second-degree sprained ankle in the opener last Sunday in San Francisco. Coach Pete Carroll has not placed a timetable on when Robinson may return.

Williams spent the entire 2010 season on the Bears practice squad before being released at the end of training camp this year. He signed with Cleveland on Sept. 7.
