PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — It sounds like the kind of pickle Mr. Ed might have found himself in.

A 1,200-pound horse named Sky got himself high-centered on a stable window in Portland, Ore., with his front legs out the window toward a field where other horses were at pasture and his hind legs stuck inside.

Portland Fire Lt. Mike Pringle says the owners of Foxridge Farm called for help Wednesday. When firefighters arrived, Sky was shaking and bleeding from his belly.

Pringle says Sky apparently “saw the other horses going out to pasture and wanted to go with them.”

A plan to use a power saw to cut away the barn siding was abandoned when Sky freaked out at the noise, even under sedation.

Four firefighters finally got behind him in the stall and shoved him to safety with “a little maneuvering and a lot of muscle.”
