Wells Fargo employees win grants for groups

Wells Fargo has donated $12,000 to local nonprofit groups through its Volunteer Service Award program in honor of three of its employees who live or work in Clark County.

The program gives cash grants to nonprofits on behalf of Wells Fargo employees to recognize the valuable contributions they make to local organizations and schools. This year, the financial services company will donate a total of $400,000 to organizations in the name of 241 employees.

Vancouver resident Dan Crane won $10,000 for the Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. The orchestra promotes affordable music education for children in Southwest Washington and Oregon. Crane, a violinist, has served as board president and in many other positions for the group.

Also, Samantha Itkin of Vancouver won $1,000 for Junior Achievement of Oregon & Southwest Washington. And LaVerne Locey of Battle Ground won $1,000 for Second Chance Companions in Battle Ground.
