Letter: School board appointee deserves vote

I was pleased to read of Mavis Nickels’ appointment to the Battle Ground school board. I have known Nickels for years, both as an educator and a neighbor, and hold her in the highest regard. Nickels was among the outstanding teachers at Prairie High School who taught my daughter and instilled in her a lifelong love of learning.
