PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Marion County prosecutors say that a woman has been banned from owning animals for five years after pleading no contest in an animal neglect case.

Authorities say Mikerra Lane neglected three horses and 14 llamas. Deputies say they found the three horses malnourished and the llamas to be starving.

Lane was sentenced Wednesday to probation and community services.

The prosecutor’s office says the animals are now healthy in a sanctuary.
