Hillis, Browns ready to run

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Browns are bringing their own Peyton to Indianapolis, and his neck is fine. On Sunday, Peyton Hillis would like them to test his broad shoulders.

Unable to establish a running game last week in a loss to Cincinnati, the Browns may rely on massive doses of Hillis against the Colts, who have been susceptible to the run for years and will be missing starting middle linebacker Gary Brackett, sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Hillis had 17 carries for just 57 yards against Cincinnati last week, when the Browns fell behind 13-0 and were forced to play catch-up by passing. He’d like to be more involved this week, and coach Pat Shurmur said he believes “in running the football.”

Houston rushed for 167 yards last week in a 34-7 blowout of the Colts in their first game without injured quarterback Peyton Manning.
