Broadous has 4 TDs in 48-14 rout for Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Andre Broadous accounted for four touchdowns and Asa Jackson returned an interception 100 yards for a score as Cal Poly defeated South Dakota State 48-14 on Saturday.

Broadous completed 12 of 16 passes for a career-high 213 yards, including touchdowns of 29 yards to Jarred Houston and 69 to Mark Rodgers. He also had scoring runs of 1 and 23 yards while rushing for 69 yards on 13 carries.

Jackson’s interception gave Cal Poly (1-2) a 41-14 lead and tied the school record for longest interception return. Bijon Samoodi also scored on a 46-yard interception return for the Mustangs.

Jake Romanelli added 100 yards rushing on 17 carries, including an 11-yard TD run.

Thomas O’Brien completed 28 of 45 passes for 376 yards and two scores for South Dakota State (1-2), but the Jackrabbits had just 38 yards rushing.

The two teams combined for 967 yards of offense and 50 first downs.
