Fewer razor clams to be available on Washington beaches

Clam diggers are expected to harvest fewer razor clams on Washington’s five coastal beaches in the coming season.

Dan Ayres, coastal shellfish manager for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, said fewer clams will be available due to the natural cycle of the population.

Diggers harvested about 3.2 million razor clams last season.
