TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State wide receiver Kenny Shaw has been taken by ambulance to the hospital after receiving a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit early in the second quarter of the Seminoles’ game against Oklahoma.

Shaw lay motionless for several minutes in the Oklahoma end zone Saturday after he was sandwiched between Oklahoma’s Tom Wort and Javon Harris. Their helmets both banged into Shaw, who had caught what appeared to be a touchdown pass on the play but dropped the ball after being hit.

Shaw was tied to a backboard on his way to the waiting ambulance, but he was able to give the crowd a thumbs-up with his left hand.

Oklahoma was penalized 15 yards for a personal foul on the play.
