LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Authorities and family members say a man killed his wife at their home in Florida before shooting and wounding a pastor and associate pastor at a nearby church.

The Polk County Sheriff’s office said Sunday that 57-year-old Jeremiah Fogle killed one person at a home, then burst through the front doors of the church about a block away and shot the pastors.

Maria Beauford says the woman who was killed was her sister, 56-year-old Theresa Fogle.

Beauford says her sister married Jeremiah Fogle in 2002. She says the couple ran a transportation business and that she had never seen the man act violently toward her sister.

Beauford says the Fogles had been members of the church where the shootings took place but had started up their own ministry out of their home.
