VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — One person was taken to the hospital Monday after an Amtrak train hit a pickup truck at a private crossing six miles east of Vancouver.

BNSF Railways spokesman Gus Melonas says the driver of the pickup, its only occupant, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened at about 5:30 p.m. and shut down a BNSF line just off of state Highway 14 for about an hour. The closure delayed five freight trains. Melonas says investigators didn’t find any damage to the railroad or the crossing..
