INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — NCAA President Mark Emmert has some advice for schools changing conferences.

Conference realignment has become the NCAA’s latest white-hot topic. Over the weekend, Syracuse and Pittsburgh jumped into the fray by announcing they would leave the Big East and join the ACC.
Texas A&M plans to leave the Big 12, and Oklahoma and Texas may follow.
Emmert says antitrust legislation prevents the NCAA from directing the discussion or the decisions. He says he hopes schools consider the best interests of the athletes — and he wants the process to be collegial.
Emmert acknowledged that travel concerns, particularly for midweek games, could have a major impact on the performance of student-athletes in the classroom.
