Letter: Promises being fulfilled

The Columbian
Published: September 18, 2011, 5:00pm

U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, ran for Congress based on promises to cut our $14.3 trillion debt and focus on job creation. So far, she has voted to cut more spending than any other Congress I can remember. She’s held numerous job events where she listens to local employers in order to translate their feedback into legislative priorities.

She will be hosting a jobs fair at the end of this month at the Red Lion. And, she has done this in a reasonable fashion. For instance, she opted to revamp rather than simply eliminate the important but flawed Endangered Species Act. I would say promises kept.
