Broncos’ Decker healthy once again and it shows

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — At long last, Eric Decker’s left foot is fine and his mind clear.

On Sunday he ignited a win over Cincinnati when he became the first receiver in Denver Broncos history to score twice and top 100 yards receiving in his first career start.

That followed his 90-yard punt return for a touchdown against Oakland in the opener.

Decker missed the last half of his senior season at Minnesota in 2009 with a foot injury that still bothered him all of his rookie season last year, when he scored twice in limited action.

Twenty-three months later, it’s easy to see why so many scouts considered him a surefire first-rounder before he slipped to the third round in the draft because of the foot injury that has ended many a career.
