INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Homecourt advantage might not mean much for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA Eastern Conference finals.
The Fever fought all season to earn the No. 1 seed in the East, but they lost both home games against Atlanta this season. Indiana gets a chance to change its fortunes against the Dream on Thursday night in Game 1 of the best-of-three series.
These are the last two East champions: Indiana in 2009, Atlanta last year.
Indiana needs to slow Atlanta guard Angel McCoughtry, who averaged 23.8 points and shot 49 percent in four games against the Fever this season.
Indiana’s Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas are among those who will share the responsibility of guarding her.
