PROVO, Utah (AP) — Jimmer Fredette’s exhibition game for NBA rookies turned into a typical high-scoring all-star game with the host’s team losing 138-128 on Thursday night.

Tobias Harris and Kawhi Leonard both scored 24 points and Kemba Walker added 23 for the non-Jimmer team in a game that featured eight NBA first-round draft picks and four second-rounders.

Fredette, who was cheered wildly by the BYU fans at his alma mater, had 27 points and 10 assists, while Nolan Smith led the team with 30 points and 13 assists.

Fredette organized the game as a chance to just play basketball and block out the dire news of a potential long lockout of NBA players.

The game drew 11,124 fans and they were there to cheer for Fredette, who was the national player of the year last season with the Cougars.
