WOODINVILLE, Wash. (AP) — King County is showing off its new sewage treatment plant with a public open house Saturday at the plant near Woodinville.

It took five years to build. At $1.8 billion it’s the most expensive project in county history.

KOMO reports (http://bit.ly/r378Yp ) it will serve communities in north King and south Snohomish County.

Treated wastewater will be pumped through a 13-mile tunnel to Puget Sound at Edmonds.
