Letter: Vote for Riley in 49th District

The Columbian
Published: September 22, 2011, 5:00pm

The 49th District representatives in our state legislature have miserably failed Clark County residents. Unemployment remains in double-digit figures, while incentives for job creation escape the attention, and even the imagination, of those who call themselves our leaders. If we are ever going to grow our economy, we need new ideas and new proposals for attracting and keeping businesses and jobs. It’s time for them to go.

Let’s elect men and women to represent us who will not play politics with our future for political gain, while allowing our economy to languish from inattention. Our free market has provided us with the greatest measure of liberty, security and prosperity the world has ever seen. It’s time to put that engine of growth to work again by supporting wise and honest leaders like Craig Riley, who know that our future depends upon the opportunities the marketplace provides.
