SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man who escaped from Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake was picked up while trying to hitchhike 12 miles east of Ritzville.
The Washington State Patrol says 59-year-old Steven Nelson escaped yesterday, and was found Friday morning while trying to hitch a ride.
KREM-TV of Spokane reports that Nelson has been returned to the mental hospital. Other details were not immediately available.
