SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Some new multi-space parking pay stations are debuting in portions of downtown Spokane on Friday.

The stations allow people to pay for on-street parking with credit cards in addition to coins.

A total of 10 stations will be tried out for the next six months in Spokane. Parking rates will remain the same.

Within the next couple of weeks, parking customers also will be able to test a pay-by-phone service that requires people to set up an account on-line in advance of parking.
