PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police responded to a report of gunfire at an apartment complex in the same area where a teenager was killed this summer.

KATU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/nndYK9 ) a witness says she heard a string of gunfire early Monday morning. Members of the Portland police gang task force were also at the scene Monday.

A Portland police officer in the area heard the shots go off. There were no injuries reported.

The shooting took place in the same area where 19-year-old Vinesh Prasad was killed in July.

Portland police haven’t said whether they think the gunfire and the homicide are related.
