SEATTLE (AP) — After vandals slashed their car tires and left a homophobic note in front of their home, a Seattle gay couple is installing an American and a rainbow flag

KING 5 reports that (http://bit.ly/qWA7r6 ) Lyle Evans and Chris Ilovar installed the flags as a message to whoever targeted them in what police are investigating as a hate crime.

The couple’s car tires were slashed and a window was smashed with a rock that had a profanity-laced note telling them that the God forbids homosexuality and to get out of the neighborhood.

Lyle says it’s shocking anyone would do something like this in Seattle, but he says the attack has brought his neighborhood together. The couple also installed other security enhancements

The couple and neighbors saw two men run from the street Saturday night.
