SEATTLE (AP) — Two University of Washington faculty members are being honored by the White House with presidential early career awards for scientists and engineers. The second honoree is Dr. Kristina Utzschneider, an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition. She is part of a group of scientists studying why people get type 2 diabetes and other diseases related to obesity.
