COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina tailback Marcus Lattimore thinks the Gamecocks offense is ready to take off just as soon as it cleans up a few mistakes.
Lattimore said Tuesday that No. 10 South Carolina has been sloppy and careless on offense this season, something that’s held down it’s production if not its success. The Gamecocks are 4-0 for the first time in 10 years and 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference for the third time ever. They hope to continue that success against defending national champion Auburn (3-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday.
The Gamecocks struggled offensively last week in a 21-3 victory over Vanderbilt. Quarterback Stephen Garcia threw four interceptions and Lattimore ran for 77 yards, his first game under 100 yards this season.
