Battle Ground — Eleven-year-old Brody Buffum wanted to do something to raise money for the Humane Society for Southwest Washington and Rocksolid Teen Center. Buffum helped organize a Pet Fest that included pet-related vendors such as the Battle Ground Barkery and Mind Your Manners Dog Training School. The Pet Fest was held at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Students from Rocksolid bathed and groomed dogs during the Sept. 17 event and raised more than $100 in donations to benefit the Humane Society. A private donor will match the amount, and $100 will be donated to the teen center, as well.
