WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A Wenatchee woman is sighing relief after a sorter at a local Goodwill found her $38,000 in checks and $1,500 in cash in a purse she had donated.

The Wenatchee World reports (http://bit.ly/ntZSr1 ) that the woman had called the store to check of her lost money, which came from her recently deceased mother.

Goodwill manager Darryl Hull says the woman was overcome with joy and almost fell down when the money was found.

He says the store is planning on rewarding the sorter — Taide Gonzalez — for the find.
