YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Police and sheriff’s deputies arrested a 15-year-old Wednesday in Union Gap who is suspected of shooting two people in Yakima.
The teen is facing assault charges in the Tuesday night shooting of a 54-year-old woman and 15-year-old boy as they were walking home from a grocery store.
KNDO reports the woman was hit in the legs and the boy in the stomach. They are recovering.
The sheriff’s office says the victims did not appear to have any gang affiliation and the motive for the shooting was unclear.
