Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s office said more than 1,300 people registered to take part in Wednesday’s job fair by 6 p.m., when the event ended, and an estimated 400 more showed up without registering. That brings the total to 1,700, more than twice the count The Columbian had reported as of late Wednesday afternoon.

The job fair hosted by Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, at the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay drew about 70 employers, many with job openings to fill.
