The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for the public’s help to solve a homicide that occurred earlier in the month.

Deputies found the body of 61-year-old David Michael Gates around 8 a.m. Sept. 5 in the parking lot of Riverview Bank, 1220 N.E. 88th St., in Hazel Dell. Investigators determined the death was a homicide.

Investigators have little information about Gates besides that he was a transient who frequented the Hazel Dell area, a sheriff’s office bulletin said.

The major crimes unit is asking anyone with information about Gates’ whereabouts on Sept. 4 and 5 or any information about his associates to call detectives Kevin Harper or Lindsay Shultz at 1-877-274-6311 or email them at ccsomcu@gmail.com.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case, or any unsolved felony. Tipsters can remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 503-823-4357, www.crimestoppersoforegon.com.
