PORTLAND — Police say a shooting early Sunday in Portland was the 31st gang shooting of the year in the city, compared with 17 at this time last year.

Police say a 22-year-old man was standing on the porch of a house were a gang party was under way when he was shot. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition with a wound to his abdomen.

KATU reports the man has a criminal record that includes arrests for felony assault, domestic violence, and drug and gun charges. He was most recently arrested in January for a parole violation.
