Clark County sheriff’s deputies and the medical examiner are investigating the case of a body found in a van about noon Monday.

It was parked in front of the Meadow Wood Apartments at 6811 N.E. 121st Ave., said Sgt. Craig Randall.

The body was first seen by a pedestrian who saw masses of flies swarming inside the van’s windows.

That person looked in a window, saw feet and alerted deputies, Randall said.

To get inside, a deputy reached inside a wing window and unlocked the door.

If the body is that of who deputies believe it is, the dead man had been served with a restraining order that said he could not return to his home. It is believed he’d been living in the full-size white van, Randall said.

A resident of the large apartment complex said the van had been parked there about two months. The Orchards-area apartment complex has more than 300 units.

Once the body is identified, officials will notify family members before releasing the name.
